II. Methodology
The survey was administered by members of the Westonka Rotary Club to people over the age of eighteen who lived or worked in the City of Mound. The survey was conducted at local businesses and at the City of the Lakes community celebration during the months of July and August, 2005. The respondents were informed that the survey was anonymous, voluntary, and the results of the survey would be used to improve police response and community oriented service.

The Westonka Rotary Club administered 494 surveys. Eighteen of the surveys were excluded from the study due to incomplete or unfinished questions.

The survey contained a comments section, which was designed to allow respondents to give specific information to the police department to help improve service. The comments were divided into four categories: Community Relations, Operations, Suggestions, and Opinions.
