Mound City Code requires all domestic cats and dogs to have a current Mound issued animal license.
An animal license is $25 for a spayed/neutered pet or $35 for an unspayed/unneutered pet; in April of 2009 the animal license will drop to half the usual cost. An animal license for your pet can be purchased at the Mound Police office on a walk-in basis >> directions.
***Please bring vaccination information when you stop in or an animal license will NOT be issued.
If your animal is found running at-large or is turned in by a third party it will be impounded and brought to the Mound Police Department kennels and kept onsite for six business days. After six business days it may be transported to the Animal Humane Society if an owner can not be identified. Hence the importance that all animal owners register their animal with the Mound Police in case it’s ever recovered.
